Great advertising for the area and it helps us too! The NC500 team are doing a great job of getting the word around. Here at the B&B many of our overseas guests have been completing the route including, Belgian, Swiss, Austrian, Dutch, German & Polish guests. Certainly the NC500 is being embraced by our guests and why wouldn’t you. It’s a cracking trip to take.
My wife & I did the NC 500 in June this year (2016) and we did it in a long weekend Thurs to Sunday. Unfortunately I would have to say allow yourself at least 5 to 7 days to take in the full extent of the scenery on the route and also the various attractions on route. Despite having recently fitted new tyres prior to setting off on the trip we unfortunately hit a pot hole and ruined one of the new tyres and unfortunately my car is not fitted with a spare or indeed a jack. We found ourselves at the mercy of one of the leading breakdown organisations, who on that occasion did not perform well and sadly we had to sacrifice some of the route. We intend returning to take in the attractions we missed due to our mishap such as Inverewe gardens and many others too numerous to mention. But I would do it again, but this time take a bit longer to enjoy the various attractions.
